Hello,
Sharing a dessert I had been yearning to attempt since long but just could not find the courage to... After months of procrastination one fine day I just barged into my kitchen, after the days cooking & sending my bro with his tiffin to his shop....
Just picked the things required for it & with no space for a breather just got down to cook.... Lemme take you through it step by step.... very short π
Ingredients:
Milk - 1/2 litre
Sugar - 2 1/2tbsp + 2tbsp
Vanilla Essence - 1- 1 1/2 tsp
Water - hot 1/2 cup
Eggs - 3
Salt to Taste
Steamer + Water
1. Heat a pan & add in the 1st part of sugar & keep stirring allowing it to boil... You would know when it caramelizes... Just add in the hot water & stir it enough for a good mix...
2. Now pour this into a glass bowl that you would use in the steamer... It could all be poured into one big bowl or it can also be distributed to lil bowls depending on the number of people...
3. Boil the milk... Once done add in the remaining sugar & vanilla drops & give it a good stir...
4. Remove it from the stove & keep aside...
5. Now into another bowl, break the eggs & beat it well along with the salt required to balance the taste... Then add in the warm milk & mix it well too
6. Now sieve the milk, {which is optional, for you are just sieving in any residues left} into that 1 big bowl or many different bowls, as per your choice.... Cover it with aluminum foil with lil openings made by fork/knife
7. Boil the water in the steamer & place this bowl/bowls & allow it to cook covered for about 10-15 minutes....
8. Remove it from the steamer & you would see the custard is set with its center a lil shaky.... Not to worry... π
9. Just place the bowl/bowls in the refrigerator allowing it to set completely...
10. Once done remove it to transfer on to a plate watching the richness of caramel, color your custard beautifully...
11. Savor the Cold Caramel Custard feeling the divinity as it slips down your throat making its way through your taste buds.... π
The taste lingers for long helping you experience divinity within yourself.... π
